The transfer service our charter guests asked us to build
Sonic Charters started as a day charter company, running private trips on six power and sailing vessels across the US and British Virgin Islands. Over the years the same request kept coming from guests flying into St Thomas on their way to the BVI sailing grounds: get us from the airport to our boat.
So we built it. Last Mile Water Taxi was created to make that final connection seamless. The same experienced captains, boats and standard of service, with dedicated private water taxi and day charter service throughout the USVI and BVI.

Get to the dock
There are a few taxi options from the STT airport to your private (or shared) water taxi and take you immediately on your way to St John or the BVI. St. John and Lovango transfers run from Crown Bay Marina, five minutes from the airport. BVI transfers are priced from our Oasis Cove Marina base just outside Red Hook, and can also leave from Crown Bay on request. We can help you arrange and answer questions about this part.

Clear customs aboard
For those entering the BVI, the captain and crew will process your BVI paperwork while you wait and enjoy a refreshing drink.

Door-to-dock delivery
Once cleared into the BVI, the captain will deliver you to your final destination.

Round trip and children
Round trip bookings are eligible for a 10% discount (depending on passenger count) and all children under two are free of charge.

Both boats carry up to 12 guests. Boss's Therapy is BVI flagged and Bossa Nova runs out of St Thomas, so between them we can start your day on either side of the line — a transfer in from the airport, or a charter that begins and ends in the BVI.

The Last Mile Water Taxi flagship vessel, "Boss's Therapy," is a 37′ Intrepid Open running triple Mercury 350s — a deep-V offshore hull with the power to hold a comfortable cruise across the Pillsbury Sound and the Sir Francis Drake Channel, even when the trades are up. Her open cockpit keeps the group together with shade overhead and room to move, and there is space for luggage without stacking it on your feet. All water taxi routes come with fully licensed and insured captains to assist with luggage and boarding.

Bossa Nova is a 37′ Axopar Sun Top, built to handle choppier weather well, making it ideal for open-water runs between islands. For those that like to travel in style and on your own time, booking a private water taxi between the islands is the choice for you. There is no better way of arriving to the BVI.

Your day starts where you already are. We pick up at your marina, villa dock or charter yacht in the BVI and go straight to the water. Boss's Therapy is BVI flagged and Bossa Nova is available for BVI days as well.

Charter with Sonic Charters
Day trips out of St Thomas are handled by our sister company. Sonic Charters runs six power and sailing vessels throughout the US and British Virgin Islands, with the same licensed and insured captains. St. John, Water Island, Christmas Cove and the day-trip runs to the BVI all start there.

The Last Mile Water Taxi to BVI
- A water taxi booking is a point-to-point transfer, not the boat for the day. We take you from A to B and the trip ends there. If you want the boat and captain for the day, that is a private day charter — a different booking at a different rate.
- BVI prices are from our Oasis Cove Marina base, just outside Red Hook. Departures from Crown Bay Marina, five minutes from the airport, are available on request — just ask us when you book.
- Last Mile Water Taxi offers private water taxi services throughout the US and BVI. All prices listed are for the entire boat.
- For those looking for a ride share, we will do our best to combine with other groups seeking the same route and traveling on the same flight schedule or time, and in this case you will just pay the per person rate. In cases where there are not enough guests to meet the minimum, you will be able to cancel without penalty.

Traveling on a water taxi between St Thomas, St John and the BVI can be an affordable and convenient way to get to your destination fast and on time. Boss's Therapy offers a large open cockpit area with shaded seating for up to 12 guests, plus room up forward for those looking to catch some fresh air on their way to their final destination.
Our captains are fully licensed and deeply experienced. On water taxi transfers, your captain is there to provide a safe, comfortable journey and answer questions along the way. On day charters, your captain also serves as your guide for the day, helping you make the most of your time on the water. Please don't forget to take care of them: a 15–25% gratuity is customary and greatly appreciated.
